When I think of what I am most thankful for, the thing that usually comes to my mind first, besides coffee of course, is my husband. There are many obvious reasons why I am thankful for my husband, but it is usually the little things that remind me why I am so blessed.
Here are a few examples:
Two nights ago, Jarrett kissed me goodnight just like he always does at 10pm on the dot. I decided to stay in the living room and work on some homework and finish up a program I was watching. A little over an hour later, I decided it was time to get some beauty rest and I began making my way to our bedroom. In the hallway, I noticed a light coming from our room. Funny, Jarrett must have fallen asleep with the light on. I opened the door to find my nerdy husband with his nose buried in his Kindle. He looked up at me with the goofiest grin. And I melted. I love my little bookworm.
Example two was just this morning. Jarrett's alarm started to go off sometime around 6 am. He went back to sleep, while I laid there awake. Why thank you husband for setting your alarm at dawn's crack and then proceeding to go back to sleep. His second alarm began to go off about 10 minutes later. This alarm happens to sound like a telephone ringing. Annoying? Yes. Well then, Jarrett picks up his phone and starts talking in it like someone actually called him. He says "Yes sir. I will be there." When he "hangs up," I ask him who called. He responds seriously, "I have to be at a formation at 6:10." I begin to freak a little and say, "but Jarrett, it is 6:10!" To which he tries to smuggle the grin that begins to appear on his face. I then respond with, "Jarrett John!" It's evil to play jokes on someone half asleep. But I'm more jealous that someone can be so happy and silly at 6:10 in the morning.
Oh, Jarrett. He can drive me mad, but who can resist someone with a goofy grin and a silly sense of humor? Not me, that's for sure.
This photo has nothing to do with this post other than it makes me roll on the floor laughing every time.

Awe, I love to hear about how much a wife loves and is thankful for her husband. We don't here that enough...especially in the Military!
